Lightly Salted Banana Chips Recipe
This deliciously simple banana chips recipe comes from my friend, Misri. Her light-salted banana chips are so crispy and good, they’re addictive. All you need to get started are some raw bananas (green bananas), oil and salt to taste. You can get creative by adding some chilli or paprika powder to the chips for a spicy taste. In any case, as with any other great tasting food, try limiting to eating these banana chips to once a month. Preparation time: 20 minutes Frying time: 25 minutes Comments: You can mix some paprika or chilli powder to the bananas slices before frying for nice spicy flavor. Ingredients: 5 raw bananas 2 tablespoons salt Oil for deep frying Directions: 1. Peel the bananas and soak in salted iced water for 10 minutes. 2. Slice bananas with a slicer into thin round slices. You can also split banana into 4 pieces and slice. 3. Dry banana slice in sun or paper towels to remove moisture. 4. Heat oil in a deep fryer, wok or heavy bottomed pan. 5. Fry banana slices about 2 minutes until golden brown or crispy in one-layer batches. 6. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt to taste.
