Scrumptious Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin Recipe

I bet you’re going to LOVE my granny's (Ama) infamous, delicious, moist banana chocolate chip muffin recipe. Made with sour cream, milk and chocolate chips, this muffin recipe is a favorite with family and friends. The more I make the muffins, the more I appreciate it because it makes a wonderfully quick and healthy snack for the family.

Servings: 15 muffins
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Bake time: 20 minutes

You may also want to add some chopped nuts (raw or toasted) into the banana chocolate chip muffin recipe, stirring it together with the chocolate chips for a nuttier texture.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 bananas, mashed
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF/200ºC.
2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and mix.
3. In a separate bowl, combine bananas, eggs, butter, sour cream, milk, vanilla, and mix.
4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, be careful not to overmix.
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Spoon batter into paper muffin cups about 2/3 cups full.
7. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a wooden pick comes out with some melted chocolate but no crumbs.
8. Allow to cool before removing from muffin pan.

Tried out the banana choc chip muffins. Only had 2 large bananas and was 50ml short on the sour cream. I added an extra TB of milk to compensate, and left all other ingredients the same.     Easy Banana Bread
    Great recipe! I had two ripe bananas at home and wanted to use them right away, so I searched for ideas on the Internet. I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. Since I only had two bananas, I used only half of every ingredient (I added a dash of cinnamon) and baked it for half the time, too! It was so delicious!

    Excellent! This would have to be the most delicious and moist banana cake ever! I used wholemeal flour instead and it was still unbelievably moist. Also, I baked it for 50 mins instead, then left to cool and that helped make it more moist yet not undercooked. This has now become a firm family favourite, thankyou!.

    This might be my new favorite recipe! Plain, they are like mini, takealong banana bread bites! Delicious! Then I got creative, and dipped them in semisweet chocolate, then pressed a walnut on top and now they are an elegant cookie!
