Banana Pop Recipes for Kids





Looking for some fun activities with your kids in the kitchen? Then these banana pop recipes may just be your answer.

There are endless varieties to creating your signature banana pop recipe, so start looking at what ingredients you have in your kitchen and get creative. Frozen banana pops are also good eaten plain on its own.

To store banana pops, simply wrap the frozen bananas in tin foil or air-tight freezer bags, and freeze. Banana pops can be stored up to 1 week.

Note: If you don’t have lolly sticks, use the back ends of plastic spoons.

Chocolate Banana Pop Recipes

Servings: 8 banana pops

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Comments: To avoid the bananas from falling off their sticks, freeze the bananas before coating with your favorite dressing.

Ingredients:
4 bananas, peeled and cut into half crosswise
2 cups dark chocolate chips or white chocolate
1 cup toppings such as chopped nuts, colored sprinkles, grated coconut, graham cracker crumbs, wheatgerm, etc.

Directions:
1. Insert stick into the cut end of each banana.
2. Freeze bananas for 3 hours or until solid.
3. Melt chocolate in microwave or over hot water.
4. Dip frozen bananas into chocolate, coating all sides.
5. Place toppings on a flat plate. Roll coated bananas over toppings. Serve.


Honey Banana Pop Recipes

Servings: 8 banana pops

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
4 bananas, peeled and cut into half crosswise
1/2 cup honey
1 cup toppings such as chopped nuts, grated coconut, carob chips, dried fruit, graham cracker crumbs, etc.

Directions:
1. Insert stick into the cut end of each banana.
2. Freeze bananas for 3 hours or until solid.
3. Dip frozen bananas into honey, coating all sides.
4. Place toppings on a flat plate. Roll coated bananas over toppings.
5. Lay bananas on baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes or until honey coating is hardened. Serve.


Peanut Butter Banana Pop Recipes

Servings: 8 banana pops

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
4 bananas, peeled and cut into half crosswise
1/2 cup peanut butter mixed with 2 tablespoons yogurt
1 cup toppings such as chopped nuts, grated coconut, chocolate sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, etc.

Directions:
1. Insert stick into the cut end of each banana.
2. Freeze bananas for 3 hours or until solid.
3. Dip frozen bananas into peanut butter-yogurt mix, coating all sides.
4. Place toppings on a flat plate. Roll coated bananas over toppings.
5. Lay bananas on baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes or until peanut butter-yogurt coating is hardened. Serve.


Yogurt-Dipped Banana Pop Recipes

Servings: 8 banana pops

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
4 bananas, peeled and cut into half crosswise
2 cups flavored yogurt
1 cup toppings such as chocolate sprinkles, crushed cereal, crushed cookies, granola, rice crispies, chopped nuts, etc.

Directions:
1. Insert stick into the cut end of each banana.
2. Freeze bananas for 3 hours or until solid.
3. Dip frozen bananas into yogurt, coating all sides.
4. Place toppings on a flat plate. Roll coated bananas over toppings.
5. Lay bananas on baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes or until yogurt coating is hardened. Serve.


Miscellaneous Banana Pop Recipes

Servings: 8 banana pops

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
4 bananas, peeled and cut into half crosswise
1 cup lemon juice, orange juice or coconut milk
1 cup toppings such as crushed sunflower seeds, grated coconut, wheatgerm, chopped nuts, chocolate sprinkles, etc.

Directions:
1. Insert stick into the cut end of each banana.
2. Freeze bananas for 3 hours or until solid.
3. Dip frozen bananas into juice or milk, coating all sides.
4. Place toppings on a flat plate. Roll coated bananas over toppings.
5. Lay bananas on baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes or until juice or milk coating is hardened. Serve.
