Sweet Banana Chips Delight

Sweet banana chips are great snacks for any party. Like savoury banana chips, they’re so easy to make and taste fantastic. All you need are some raw bananas, sugar and oil. If you store the banana chips properly in air-tight containers, they can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
5 raw bananas
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water (for syrup)
1 cinnamon stick
Oil for deep frying

Directions:
1. Peel bananas, and soak bananas in salted cold water for 10 minutes.
2. Slice bananas into thin round slices with a slicer, or split banana into 4 pieces and slice.
3. Dry banana slice in sun or paper towels to remove moisture.
4. Heat oil and fry banana slices about 2 minutes until golden brown or crispy in one-layer batches. Drain on paper towels.
5. In another pan, combine white, brown sugar, water and cinnamon in saucepan and cook over low fire until sugar dissolves and syrup becomes thick. Turn off fire.
6. Add fried bananas chips to pan, tossing and mixing well until banana chips are well-covered with syrup. Remove cinnamon stick.
7. Allow to cool before storing in air-tight container.
